We Just Gel

I always tend to get reflective after trips. Perhaps I get home and reflect on the events. Treasure the stories I’ve missed here but always look forward to the next adventure.

This all started when Melissa and I decided we were going to take a “Mother’s Day trip” to Miami. Then the climate there had gotten bad, so we decided to ask Dede and switch over to the safest place New Orleans. Lol. (Side note we will still go so I can use my hashtag #MiamiMyAmy but it will hold.)

Three ladies set off on an adventure with one who wasn’t the best flyer. To say we had fun is an understatement. To say we had the most fun being silly, laughing, walking, eating and story telling is the real truth. It was filled with long, long walks, two trips to a foot massage parlor, shopping, more walks, an unfortunate bruise, the best peddle cab, great food and memories that will last. We said it so often.. that “we gel well”. A wonderful dynamic. Easy time, not a whole lot of plans.

I encourage you to take trips with your friends. Maybe to Chattanooga or the lake. Remind yourself it’s okay. To reenergize and laugh a lot. Just lean on each other. We forget sometimes we need our friends. I had been walking through such a different season and they help me find so much laugher, making silly videos, support and did I say exercise?…

Share your heart, stay up late, carry plastic bags to fancy pools. Buy the wigs, dance in the streets and enjoy the ride. I’m thankful for two friends who didn’t know each other well but now we are looking forward to our next adventure.

Melissa and Dede.. thank you a million times for making me fly, letting me lay on your shoulder, for hugs in hallways and for a perfect weekend. Till next time. My original Faith Hill, Sara Evans and Martina McBride ❤️
